The aim of the seminars is to share research findings and research knowledge across HSE and with partner organisations and particularly share examples of how to get research into practice.
Our first seminar took place in March 2022 with Dr Catherine Gill from the Health Research Board and Dr Karen Matvienko-Sikar from University College Cork as speakers. Dr Gill presented ‘A partnership approach to reducing the ‘know-do gap’ and applying research to practice’ and spoke about the HRB Applied Partnership Awards, the thinking behind them, and what makes them different from other awards. Dr Karen Matvienko-Sikar presented ‘Knowledge translation in developing and implementing the CHErIsH Choosing Healthy Eating for Infant Health intervention to prevent childhood obesity‘. The intervention was developed using an integrated knowledge translation approach that included healthcare professionals in primary care throughout the process of developing and implementing the intervention. The two presentations are available here.
