SJH/TUH Joint Research Ethics Committee (AKA St. James’ Hospital/Tallaght University Hospital), provides ethical review of research studies in which patients (and sometimes healthy people) are direct participants or their medical records or biological samples are used (‘clinical study’).
Coverage Area:
The St. James’ Hospital/Tallaght University Hospital REC is approved to provide ethical review of clinical trials of medical products as required under European Communities Regulation (S.I. Number 190/2004) however these studies are reviewed by the National Research Ethics Committee (NREC) as of May 2021. It also provides ethical review of studies conducted in St. James’ Hospital and Tallaght University Hospital.
